EU Foreign Ministers to meet owing to the situation in Egypt

The EU Foreign Ministers will convene for an extraordinary Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Brussels on Wednesday, 21 August. The meeting is held owing to recent events in Egypt.

Finland will be represented at the meeting by Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja.

The meeting will discuss the situation in Egypt and the EU’s diplomatic efforts to calm the situation. The continuation of EU cooperation with and support for Egypt will also be assessed.
