Minister Stubb will meet Ambassador Michael B. Froman, U.S.Trade Representative; Daniel Mullaney, Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Europe and the Middle East; John M. Andersen, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Market Access and Compliance, U.S. Department of Commerce; and Congressmen. The Minister and the members of his delegation will also meet representatives of U.S. employee and employer organisations.The programme will also include a debate, organised by the Finnish Embassy and the Center for Strategic International Studies think tank, where Minister Stubb will act as keynote speaker.
On his visit, Stubb will be accompanied by MP Pertti Salolainen, Vice Chair, and MP Mari Kiviniemi, Member, Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee; Jyri Häkämies, CEO, Confederation of Finnish Industries; Juha Marttila, President, Central Union of Agricultural Producers and Forest Owners; Matti Tukiainen, Director of Employment and Sustainable Growth, Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Unions SAK; and Olli Koski, Chief Economist, Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Unions SAK.According to the estimate of the EU Commission, the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership is expected to give a major boost to the economy both in the EU and the United States. Small and medium-sized companies in particular are estimated to benefit from lifting of duties and simplified regulation.
