The membership is for two years. The 10-member Multi-stakeholder Group, which was set up in 2015, is to promote the implementation of the SDGs (2030 Agenda), facilitate cooperation between stakeholders, and advise central national and international actors. The group of experts works as a part of the wider Technology Facilitation Mechanism, which is to help in achieving the UN’s SDGs.

"The Ministry for Foreign Affairs warmly congratulates Ritschkoff for the appointment. We will do our best in supporting her in this respected assignment. The appointment is also an important recognition for Finland's long-term participation in the promotion of sustainable development and for our strong expertise in the areas of science, technology and innovation," says Pasi Pöysäri, Counsellor, coordinating the 2030 Agenda entity at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

Anne-Christine Ritschkoff holds a PhD degree. She joined VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd in 1987 and has worked as a Researcher and Executive Vice President for Strategic Research. Currently Ritschkoff is Senior Advisor on bioeconomy and circular economy at VTT and a Docent (mechanical engineering) at the Lappeenranta University of Technology
